We provide a spectrum of services designed to enhance and maximize a Participating Organization's health care ministry. Benedictine has about 40 participating health care organizations serving the needs of communities in six states. These participating organizations are classified into these categories: Member Organization, Ministry Partner, Associate Organization.
Member Organizations are owned, directly or indirectly, by Benedictine Health System. These organizations are sponsored by the Benedictine Sisters Benevolent Association and both BHS and BSBA retain certain reserved powers. Member Organizations must adhere to the full financial needs criteria of the System and have access to all Benedictine Health System programs and services. These organizations adhere to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
These organizations, which are co-owned or co-sponsored by Benedictine and other sponsors, may or may not have access to the capital resources of Benedictine and are required to adhere to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Both owners and/or sponsors may have reserved powers.
Associate Organizations are managed by Benedictine Health System under contract, but aren’t owned by BHS. These organizations adhere to the full financial needs criteria and management direction of the System and must comply with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
