Health Progress, the official journal of the Catholic Health Association of the United States on topics of importance to Catholic health care, featured an article written by two Benedictine Health System senior management team members.
Dale Thompson, president/CEO and Becky Urbanski, Ed.D., coauthored the article The Future of Long-Term Care: One System's Approach, featured in the November-December 2009 issue. The article overviews how the challenges brought forward by the immanent onslaught of baby-boomers will necessitate BHS to provide new services to seniors in order to stay viable.
The issue of Health Progress features a special section focusing on senior services called Here Come the Boomers. Will Health Care Be Ready? which, according to the publication “was conceived as a section devoted to long-term facility care. But it quickly became clear that the theme needed to expand, to focus not only on a single aspect of senior services, but on the future of senior services overall.”
