For 55 years, Stan and June Berg have shared their lives. They raised four children and have enjoyed the activity of their 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. So many memories that Stan now remembers alone, because June lives with Alzheimer's. She resides at Benedictine Health Center at Innsbruck where they are a special duo. Their love story is featured in the Star Tribune.

New Owatonna care community looks to the future

A community meeting to discuss changes in the Owatonna senior care landscape took place at Cedarview Care Center, Tuesday, Jan. 31. Community members were eager to find out information about the new Koda Living Community--which is 80-bed post-acute, skilled nursing and rehabilitative care facility--is slated to open early next year.

BHS study examines effect of Chinese meditative exercise with residents

In 2011, the Benedictine Health System conducted a study on the impact of Qigong, a Chinese meditative exercise, on pain and falls among assisted living residents with cognitive impairment. The study was funded with a grant from the Office of Community Engagement of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Minnesota. Results of the study are reviewed in the Feb. 1 edition of Catholic Health World.
